Nigel Watkin has joined the business after working in asset finance with Spiers Finance for many years.
"Nigel is a well known and well regarded operator, particularly in the business lending world. He as been a long established presence in the Hawkes Bay region and brings a number of strong client and provider relationships to the Mortgage Link Hawkes Bay business," Mortgage Link Hawkes Bay owner, Judy Steiner says.
He will continue to business lending as well as home loans.
Watkin has undertaken the Mortgage Link accreditation process, and is working the lenders who provide products to the Mortgage Link group. He is also registered as a financial adviser with the required membership of Financial Disputes Resolution, the main provider of External Dispute Resolution to the Mortgage Link group.
Steiner says it is encouraging to bring on board a new broker when the market after the market has shrunk so much in recent years.
She says there used to be about 50 brokers operating in Hawkes Bay and the number is now down to around 10.
