The main news today is not about rates, but about supporting mortgage brokers in quake-affected Christchurch. As I wrote in the Mortgage Magazine's recent editorial Christchurch is in many ways the home of mortgage broking. Since the quake brokers down there face some hard business times with very little, if any activity, in the housing market.
