Mortgage Rates

Again we have another week with no home loan rates to report, however there has been some chatter about lenders easing up their restrictions. This is a story we will have more on next week.

One thing we have done this week is look at the number of mortgage approvals. The story here has details showing the level of approvals has been falling and also has some data tables for those interested.

The latest Blog reports on our survey of economists and their predictions about where interest rates are heading. This is a useful story to read to help you think about your own lending strategy. Also this week we have the regular wrap up of what economists are thinking. The key message is from Westpac which suggests now is the time to move from floating rates to fixed ones. Full details here.
