Graeme Wheeler's first OCR announcement as Reserve Bank governor is out of the way and many people have made comments on it. One of the more interesting ones was this from Deutsche Bank economist Darren Gibbs.
"The next Monetary Policy Statement – the first to be presented by new Governor Graeme Wheeler – will be released on 6 December, and will reveal far more about the new Governor’s views on the economic outlook and the outlook for monetary policy. Whilst we doubt that a rate cut was considered seriously today, we expect that a rate cut will be on the table for discussion as a policy option at the accompanying December policy review."
