BNZ just pips Westpac with new Special

BNZ had introduced a three-year Special of 4.39% which just pips the new rate Westpac has introduced for this term. Westpac also has a new Special rate for its five year terms. Neither of Westpac's new Specials are market-leading rates, however they are not far off the lowest available.

BNZ meanwhile joins the leaders with the lowest three-year rate (albeit has conditions).

Going the other way Westpac has hiked its standard and Special two-year rates by 10 basis points.
