Mortgage matters: Your home loan rate update

What did yesterday's Official Cash Rate announcement really mean? NZ Mortgage Mag publisher Philip Macalister looks at what's been said and suggests borrowers need to be wary of focussing too much on the OCR and shorter term rates. Read his analysis here

On the rates front we have seen more and more increases in longer term fixed home loan rates. This page has all the increases from the past week marked in red.

The other really notable event last week is the Prime Minister John Key seemed to back off on his demands that first home buyers be exempted from any LVR lending restrictions.
